Our Story
Stitch-It Central began in October 2008 when Maria and her husband Rui opened a small shop in their home in nearby St. Thomas. What started as a passion for needle arts quickly grew into a thriving business as more and more stitchers discovered the unique selection and welcoming environment.
As the community grew, so did the shop. After several moves and expansions, Stitch-It Central found its current home in London, Ontario in 2018, where it continues to serve quilters and needleworkers from across Southwestern Ontario and beyond.
In recent years, the shop has continued to grow — doubling in size to nearly 6,000 square feet and expanding our team to better serve our creative community. This growth has allowed us to offer an even wider selection of quilting fabrics, needle art supplies, and services while still maintaining the friendly atmosphere our customers know and love.
Family has always been at the heart of Stitch-It Central. The store honours the memory of Maria and Rui’s daughter Cindy, whose spirit continues to inspire the welcoming and supportive community the shop is known for today.
